The Center for Academic Development Services (CADS) Summer
Program is a three-week residential program designed to
help students preparing for the freshman year of study
at UB understand and adjust to the university's environment
and culture.
Attendance is mandatory for all students accepted into
the Educational Opportunity Program. The program will acquaint you with university
life and provide you with a successful start at UB. It
is a highly structured and intensive program centered around
academic course offerings that will strengthen your reading,
writing, mathematics, and communication skills.
In addition to the academic courses you are required to
attend, we also have arranged a full schedule of recreational
and social activities. During the three-week program you
will become familiar with the campus, the community and
a wide range of academic and non-academic resources. You
will also be introduced to the performance expectations,
workload and behavioral strategies that are important aspects
of college life and academic success.
The CADS Pre-Freshman Summer Program is your first step
towards a successful future. It is when new and lasting
friendships between fellow students and university professionals
will be cultivated - where you will begin to build a support
network that will benefit you time and again during your
academic career at the University at Buffalo.
