A Residential Program
The CADS Summer Program is a residential program. All participants are expected to reside on campus, in the residence halls, during the entire three-week program, including weekends. Each room within your assigned residence hall is furnished. All areas in residence halls are smoke-free. If you need special housing consideration because of a disability, please contact the Center for Academic Development Services.

All residents are expected to adhere to the rules and regulations of the CADS Pre-freshman Summer Program and the Office of University Residence Halls and Apartments. Resident Counselors (RCs) are available around the clock to assist students with any questions or concerns regarding appropriate conduct and the use of facilities. Additional information about living in the residence halls is available at the following sites:

  • Safety UB is a safe community. Yet, like all communities, you are encouraged to act responsibly toward ensuring your well-being and the well being of others. In the event of an emergency, contact your Resident Counselor and/or the University Police at 645-2222. If you are already on campus you only need to dial the last four (4) digits for University Police. Emergency phones are available in the main entrances (indicated by a blue light) of the residence halls. Remember to practice safety at all times.
  • Guide Book to Residence Hall Living View the University Residence Hall guidebook.
  • Recycling in the residence halls and apartments is being made easier and more accessible each year.

INFRACTIONS:
Rules and regulations are enforced during the Summer Program. Failure to abide by these rules may result in dismissal from the Summer Program.

Each resident will have a key to the assigned room. A fee will be charged to any student who loses their key. Rooms are inspected prior to students' arrival and again upon departure. Any damages will be billed to the person(s) to whom the room is assigned.

HEALTH SERVICES:

This office is open from 8:30 a.m. -5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. For emergencies, contact the University Police at 645-2222. Students should have any insurance or health coverage information on file in the CADS Summer Program Office (208 Norton Hall) and readily accessible at all times.
